Laura Smith

< Back to the Team

Laura currently serves as an intern at reDesign.

Laura began her work in education by teaching 9th and 11th grade math in West Dayton, Ohio as a Teach for America corps member. One of her favorite parts of the job was advising the Junior Class and National Honor Society. She loved watching students embrace their leadership potential and unite to serve their community. They consistently inspired her to dig deeper into the math content and they motivated her to reimagine what learning in the classroom, and what education, in general, could look like.

Laura holds a degree in Accountancy from Miami (OH) University’s Farmer School of Business. Her passion for education was enhanced through the Urban Cohort at Miami and her decision to become a teacher was simple after spending time with so many amazing students and community members.

Laura is a graduate candidate at Harvard Graduate School of Education in the Education Policy and Management Master’s program.
