INSTITUTE ID: FEI-17080101
Struggling students often lack the knowledge and skills to synthesize new learning rapidly, while we often find ourselves pressured to cover vast reams of content in short periods of time. What's the way out of this tense dilemma? This institute will provide you with research-based practices and tools that support students in the development of critical independent learning skills.
ABOUT THIS INSTITUTE
"I taught my students, so why can't they apply it?" If you find yourself struggling to bridge the gap between teaching and learning, join us for this 2 full-day institute on the power of metacognition and modeling in instruction. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the power of modeling and teaching metacognitive skills explicitly to support students in accessing content; learn and practice powerful strategies for making learning accessible to all students; and experience reflective inquiry into one's practice supported by a community of professionals.

I want to discover more ways to use modeling as a teaching method in my classroom
I'm usually too busy to really stop and reflect on my practice; I need some supportive space and time for this!
