What does competency-based, self-paced learning actually look like? And how do I implement it in my classroom? Learn the skills, structures, and tools for implementing individualized learning in ways that foster high engagement, collaboration, and self-regulation. Consider immersing yourself in a summer of competency-based teaching and learning by registering for Competency-based Curriculum Design Part 1 and Part 2 - Virtual Charrettes.

In this series of intensives, you'll have the opportunity to learn, practice, and apply the skills, structures, and practices of powerful competency-based instruction. Learn about classroom set up and design to support personalization, flexible student grouping, learner-centered facilitation modes, and the five core instructional strategies of competency-based learning models.

This Instititute is part of reDesign's spring and summer series of Competency-based Education (CBE) Institutes, which also includes: Leading the Way: Designing Competency-based Systems (for school and district leaders) and Competency-based Curriculum Design. Each Institute will model CBE best practice, with multiple entry points, on-demand small group mini-lessons and feedback support, one-on-one coaching, and self-pacing.

We are glad you are asking! If this sounds like you, the answer is yes:

  • I am ready to rethink how I organize time, space, and teacher and student roles in my classroom
  • I really want all of my students to take more and more ownership of their learning, but how do I help them get there?
  • One of my toughest challenges is figuring out how to keep my struggling students from falling through the cracks

We're excited to hear from you. Reach out to Lena for questions or more information:
