For over five years, reDesign has been deeply immersed in supporting competency-based learning in the state of South Carolina, working closely with the SC Office of Personalized Learning. We’ve developed a competency framework connected to their Profile of a Graduate, offered ongoing Intensive Support through coaching within and across schools and districts, created a fellowship for education leaders and coaches, and developed resources like our guide to measuring personalized, competency-based learning. Throughout this process, our state partners have served as both leaders and co-learners in design and implementation.
At the Aurora Institute Symposium in October 2023, our founder Antonia Rudenstine and the Director of the Office of Personalized Learning, Stephanie DiStasio, amplified the highlights and key design features of our shared journey. In case you missed it, we’ve synthesized their learnings for you in our guide to going “From Shared Purpose to Learner Impact”. Check it out, download it, share it, and reflect on what you can apply to your own competency-based partnerships!
